okay, so you can probably tell, but i've been having trouble naming my show. and i think my problem is two-fold, i can't seem to find a suitable name to fit both the name of the website and the name of the actual show itself.
something like battlestar harmonica or escape to/from fuck mountain, would be a great name for a website, but questionable name for a show show. whereas apaolocaypse now would be a wicked name for a show, but shitty name of a website.
just trying to find that perfect balance, i suppose, and it still is the only hurdle keeping me from going forward with this whole vlog thing. well that, and then composing a theme song to it (i can probably use the rough one i did) but i think having the bridge being "WE'RE ALL ON THE BATTLESTAR HARMONICA WE'RE ALL ON THE BATTLESTAR HARMONICA WE'RE ALL ON THE BATTLESTAR HARMONICA"
and i just came across another problem. the way i name my show will kinda dictate how the show will become. i can name it like a website, and that will kind of dictate my vlog being more of a blog, but the show is more of a programme, and such and such. now i'm babbling.
here is a dumb list of names me and my friend james came up with. most of them are totally out of left field and will never come close to contention to be the name of my show/vlog. as you can see, i was trying to come up with puns using my name to name my show, but i realize it could possibly be a bad idea, as people always tend to spell my name wrong, and using something complex like apaolocaypse now could just confuse would be visitors even more.

a vote for me and this show is a vote for believing, and not stopping in believing. thanks again.
as far as i can tell i haven't asked you guys for much, and i think that's good, but this is one time i could totally really truly madly deeply use your guys help.
my former show (that's another story) commercial free paolo is nominated for a vloggie, which is like webby, only for online video content. in other words i'm up for an award, in the whole field of excellence of whatever and ever.
i'm up against some established competition with wide audiences, great marketing, and a slick production. the good news is that there are two ways to win a vloggie, either though the judges' choice or though the people's choice. and this is where you guys come in. i need you guys to vote for my show, in the pissant chance that i can win a people's choice award.
here are the instructions:
go to the vloggies voting page
Pull up your browser's search function and search for "Paolo Sambrano"
click on "vote for me" for every instance of my name you find (except on funniest video, vote for the first one)
OR
more specifically, i am nominated in the following catagories (you can just click here instead and find my name and vote)
-best male vlogger
-comedy vlog
-kids & teens vlog
-funniest video
this is a total grassroots campaign that will probably fail. but if you don't mind telling one or two of your friends to vote for me that'd be great. and if in the off chance i do win, it will be because of you and i promise to dedicate the award to you. besides it'd be a giant coup to beat out some giants in the vlog community.
feel free to contact me or comment if you have any questions.
thanks so much.
PS: voting ends on Oct. 27 (next friday, a week from now).
i am in the process of rebranding my show commercial free paolo in preparation for our move from uth-tv to podshow. and the first thing on my list is an actual theme song (we never had a real opening sequence, we just used something my friend mandel whipped for the pilot back in january). it excites me greatly to present to you, the vox community and whoever reads this, the rough draft of the theme song for commercial free paolo:
As awkward as a thanksgiving dinner at those relatives you don’t really wanna see, but have to, fisticuffs, pregnant chicks, and Sally Hemmings and radical dancing, we’re not sure if it’s really about anything, but we know for sure that:
We wanna be COMMERCIAL FREE!
COMMERCIAL FREE!
COMMERCIAL FREE!
COMMERCIAL FREE PAOLO!
please take note that i have no experience in songwriting or any sort of music-theory writing whatever. but i think it serves it's purpose.
it also excites me to possibly work with my friend jeffrey's sister's band, whom you may have heard of in the local music scene, two seconds. hearing their song, steadfast kickdrum (which i am featuring here) was the reason i wanted to work with them, as i think their style can fit the lyrics of the song. or something. or whatever.
i really hate for my maiden post on vox and first post since i stopped blogging in late may to be a, "hay guyz i'm on vox a real post to come later!"
come on, i haven't blogged since may, i'm rusty at this. i will leave you with this, gem of a relic of a treasure of a christ i just remembered that they editted some of the best parts from it. the following video was from the 2005 UthTV television show "Elements" broadcast on UPN in the summer of 2005. this video you can say was the original concept for the current (and possibliy former) UthTV internet television series, "Commercial Free Paolo". it features me dancing in the financial district in San Francisco to Andrew WK, The Go! Team, and Daft Punk. and this version was a scavanged version of the original UPN broadcast, removing aprox a minute and a half from the original five minute version where i troll caricatures of old money. to music!
